A Day in the Life is a one-day experience designed to support students in envisioning creative entrepreneurial pathways. Shadow a local Baltimore creative entrepreneur to learn about what entrepreneurship looks like on a day-to-day basis across different creative industries.
The UP/Start Venture Competition focuses on incubating and building creative businesses within the MICA community. Working with industry partners, UP/Start provides mentorship and capital to help nurture ideas into sustainable businesses. Finalists compete for a pool of $105,000 to support the launch and growth of their ventures!
The JUST/Start Idea Competition inspires students and alumni to share their ideas with the MICA Community through a 1-min pitch. The MICA community will vote for the people’s choice winners to compete to win cash prizes with the new top award being $5,000, followed by $3,000, $1,500 and $500 as seed investment into the idea.
The E/Intern Fellowship in Creative Entrepreneurship program provides students with the opportunity to participate in a valuable summer business internship experience working alongside a creative entrepreneur or founder. The fellowships of up to $3,000 are awarded to selected students who have demonstrated interest in creative entrepreneurship and have secured an internship offer working with a creative entrepreneur.
CEINNOV is a go-to-market program, supporting students and alumni in learning how to share creative practices, soft-launch business ideas, and generate income through your creative work.
MICA Art Markets are public on-campus events that celebrate art, craft, design, and the entrepreneurial spirit. These events provide an opportunity for students to develop and practice professional skill-sets, and for alumni, faculty, and staff to sell their goods.
