A Day in the Life is a one-day experience during which students can shadow a local creative entrepreneur to learn about what entrepreneurship looks like on a day-to-day basis across different creative industries. See what it is like to run a creative business and learn about what starting a business entails from those who have been on this journey.
Students will have a chance to learn about small business operations and the realities of entrepreneurship, while also starting to create their own vision of what entrepreneurship might look like, and build a network of industry contacts.
If selected, students will receive a $200 stipend in order to participate, which can be used to cover related costs like food & transportation. Participants will be required to complete pre-work and a reflection in conjunction with their shadowing experience.
The shadowing day will take place between November 2-6, 2026.

Applications are open to all currently enrolled MICA students.
International students can participate, but are not eligible to receive the stipend.
Awards payments are subject to U.S. and state income tax laws, and the payment of the award may be tax reportable. Grant recipients are responsible for reporting stipend payments to the proper taxing authorities, and are liable for any tax payments that may be due.
