• The RCCE has created programs that can help map out some of these vague aspects of the entrepreneurial journey to guide you along the path.

  • The JUST/Start Idea Competition, an initiative of The Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship, focuses on inspiring creatives in the MICA community to share their ideas with the world.

    This year's virtual competition is open to all MICA students.

    MICA's JUST/Start Idea Competition 2023 kicks off with a 1-hr virtual information session to guide the creatives from ideation to pitch. Then students have 1-week to put together their own pitch with a 1-minute video and application.

    The MICA community will vote for the people’s choice winners to compete to win cash prizes between $3,000, $1,500 and $500 as seed investment into the idea.

  • The center is always innovating and thinking of new and better ways to bridge the knowledge and access gap through the beauty of MICA creatives at the heart of the work. In the Summer 2022 the RCCE partnered with the Career Development office to launch a pop up creative studio. A team of 4 Entrepreneurship/Studio interns trained under award winning Creative Director André Vaseghi.

  • UP/Start is an initiative of The Ratcliffe Center for Creative Entrepreneurship, focused on incubating and building creative business ventures within the MICA community. Working with industry partners, UP/Start provides mentorship and capital to help nurture ideas into sustainable businesses.

  • The Internship Fellowship in Creative Entrepreneurship program provides MICA students the opportunity to participate in a valuable summer business internship experience. The fellowships of up to $3,000 will be awarded to deserving students who have demonstrated interest in creative entrepreneurship and have secured an internship offer from a potential employer. The internship must have a focus on learning business operations, leadership and management skills and can be with a start-up, small business, designer, freelancer or fine artist. The fellowship will help with living expenses and transportation costs allowing students to seek competitive internships.

  • The Creative Entrepreneurship Innovation Lab is an initiative funded through the Ratcliffe Foundation grant, a $5 million grant gifted to the university to support students and alumni in the ever evolving creative economy. This grant provides programing and operational support to grow and expand creative entrepreneurship resources for MICA’s academic community.

    CEINNOV will function as a hub for MICA students and alumni to “soft launch” their creative entrepreneurship ventures and learn how to share their creative practices while generating income through their work. CEINNOV also hopes to curb the venture competition dropoff that can happen after completing a pitch program.

    Students and alumni part of MICA’s Creative Entrepreneurship co-curricular programs now have the ability to move from the classroom directly into a market ready educational space located in a Baltimore based entrepreneurship ecosystem to incubate at the Baltimore Innovation Center (BIC) .

  • Art Market is a three-floor holiday market that provides over 100 of MICA's best students, alumni, faculty, and staff the opportunity to sell their artwork, craft and artisan-made pieces in a two-day public event on MICA's campus.
